  1. Business is SOLD! Up North Distillery in Idaho has purchased everything including the inventory. If you havent tried the honey spirit and apple brandy spirits, be sure to stop by there and give them a try. Im sure these guys are going to be great at it.
  2. I messaged an administrator. Hopefully this gets fixed asap.
  3. Yes, everything is still available. Trying to work out a deal for the whole business however if it comes down to it I will part with just the equipment if I have to.
  4. Greetings from Montana, I am a microdistillery owner in Corvallis, MT looking to sell both my equipment and inventory. Turn key operation with aging barrel inventory as well as bottled inventory. Specializing in apple brandy and honey spirit (whiskey). Business valued over $200,000 with equipment and inventory. Asking $150,000 firm for a quick sale. Attached you will find majority of the business assets. Sole reason for selling is due to family problems. If interested, post or PM me and I will send you my phone number. I will entertain offers on inventory only but not on equipment only. Either both or only inventory. Distillery Assets.pdf
  5. Just delivered my first order to the state warehouse. If you are in Montana, feel free to request "Legendary Gold Honey Spirits" at any bar or state liquor store. It is ready for delivery.
  6. Well, just finished my first official bottling run. Bottled 28 cases (6 bottles/case) of the 750 ml bottles and 12 cases (12 bottles/case) of the 375 ml bottles of my Legendary Gold Honey Spirits. I should be able to get the states first shipment to them sometime this week when I get a chance. You cant believe what a huge weight has been lifted now that I actually have product ready to go.
  7. Labels are FINALLY here. Going to be bottling this week ready to sell.
  8. The model I have is a 3 HP 220V/3 phase/60 hz model. You can see all the specs and images here.
  9. Greetings everyone, I am in a unique situation where I find myself no longer needing a brand new Chiller Unit I bought from Pro Refrigeration. It has less then 20 hours of operation on it. Has the extra casters and all the bells and whistles. I paid $8500 factory direct and I would be willing to sell it for $7000 just so I can liquidate it as soon as possible. Damon Reed from Pro Refrigeration, who is a user on here, has been my contact person throughout the entire deal from start to finish and knows all about the unit so if you require a second source for info on it he would be a good one. I will follow up with some pictures and technical specs on it later today when I get a chance to get back over to the warehouse. Thanks, Luke
  10. Just thought I would let everyone know that I have everything completed including label approval and I am just waiting on my labels to actually arrive...hopefully this week considering they have had the approved proofs for a month now Anyway, I still find it amazing how slow things progress within this industry. Luckily I have found a few things on the side to keep busy until I get my labels. Ill post as soon as I have actual labeled product to sell
  11. Labels approved and ordered. First sale should be within the next week or so.

  12. I submitted my labels Feb 1st and they still are not all approved. I have 1 approved and 2 pending that I have been going back and forth with the TTB about for 2-3 weeks now with little to no movement. Im personally frustrated beyond belief with these people and there complete lack of professionalism. Every freaking day that goes by is costing me time and money and from their responses, they couldnt care less. If you guys hear of a disgruntled distillery owner at the top of a clock tower in western montana you can have a safe guess who it is.
  13. Lots of great proposals/bills being submitted both on the state and federal level that would help all of us in the business. Thanks to all of you guys putting this all together for us. Speaking for myself I very much appreciate it and I am working on doing my part in getting the word out to our representatives. Thanks, Luke, @ Mountain View Distillery
  14. I have recently gone through this problem myself. My "temporary" solution is using a Pro Refrigeration chiller unit, circulating pump and 2x300 gallon holding tanks hooked up in series. The primary circulating loop which feeds the cold water into the still and a bypass that mixes the hot water with the cold water so that the chiller unit can keep up easier. It works good and at the end of the day I just leave the chiller and circulating pump on and it cools it back down overnight. Its not a perfect setup because it doesnt utilize the heat in a productive way and its not super cost effective because it draws on electricity to chiller the water as well as heating the water. I am interested in working on a permanent setup as well for when I build my new building....in the hope that my business does well. Ground source heat pumps, chilling ponds, in floor radiant heat,...all kinds of ideas but its integrating them into a building with a working/limit free setup.
  15. TTB formulas approved. Labels submitted for approval....the FINAL step before I can sell. Two things to say, thank God and about time. Hopefully the turnaround time with my labels is as quick as my formulas was. Anyone else submitted formulas and labels online through ttbonline.gov yet besides me? I felt like their guinea pig going through the process. Not the most intuitive online software but once you get the hang of it it works...I guess.
  16. I just got the postcard in the mail for this. Im really looking forward to going but at $800 for non ADI members...granted that would include my membership, I think that barrier to entry might be a little too high for me. I guess I wont be able to commit one way or another until we get closer to the date.
  17. First off sorry for the double posting. I dont know how that happened. I already have my formula finalized more or less for my products so that isnt a problem. I already have my labels design and submitted for approval so that isnt a problem. I have a quote from a place to print them on material that I like but is almost $0.60 per label so I think that is kind of high so I am going to be looking around to price out other options. I already have my bottles, corks and heat shrink seals so I really do have alot of things already done, its just this NABCA number surprise and the delays in submitting my formulas that is driving me batty. I have gotten a few emails already in response to this post about peoples less then positive responses to NABCA numbers so I am definitely not alone at least.
  18. So I knew I was going to need UPC numbers for my products, I didnt know they would cost $760. Thats not my dilemma, my dilemma is that apparently I ALSO need NABCA numbers!? At $72 each for each product and each size adds up as well. Then put on top of that a less then ideal application process for acquiring them. Then with respect to COLAs and Formulas, I thought that the online application process would be great but their servers/software have been down/giving me grief for the past week to the point where I cant even log in to the thing. Anyone else ran into problems like this. I just feel like as soon as I get one hurdle down they throw up 2 more in front of me. Ive got my permit, equipment and all things taken care of that front but as far as getting my final labels all done this is taking longer then I expected and more money then I anticipated.
  19. I just went through this decision myself a few months ago. I went with a small electric steam boiler from Reimers. The other built in option actually cost more money in the end and truth be told makes your setup less desirable if you ever go to resell the still. The still will be cheaper and you can find a good/great boiler for your needs (assuming you only need one my size or smaller) for less then $6000. I would highly recommend Reimers. I have only deal with them this one time so far but the quality of the boiler and dealing with them personally I would definitely go back to them and recommend anyone do the same.
  20. Anyone know a good supplier of bulk Citric Acid and/or Sodium Hydroxide? I am located in Corvallis, MT. I dont know if there is a regional supplier or if an online supplier is the only way to go. Im looking for 5 gallon bucket quantities of both. Thanks, Luke
  21. Hey Derrick, Yeah I went to the MSU/CARL workshop at the end of June. I actually got a 40 gallon Jacob Carl still. I like the bubbler plate design over the copper filing/packing which is why I went with Carl over Vendomme. Anyway, feel free to give me a call anytime.
  22. DSP permit is in hand. Took 5 months and alot of headache but from what I understand that is actually a pretty quick turnaround. Thanks to everyone for all your support. I look forward to sharing more with you in the coming months as I start streaming my operation. Fully operational now and working through some of my first wine batches but I continue to iterate my procedure. Should be good fun.
  23. Hey guys, just thought I would let everyone know that the ball is officially rolling...finally. I have submitted my articles or organization and my SS4 forms. Once I get those numbers/acknowledgments back I will be able to get going with all the TTB and State forms. Plus, I have the loan papers being drawn up as we speak and hopefully on Tuesday, the 6th, they should be able to do the wire transfer to get my still production started
