  4. What milling specs would you use for grain-in malt whiskey mashes? Looking for thoughts as they relate to efficiency and ease of processing/pumping. Are there any downsides to milling to/near flour? I recently tried a mash with malt milled to 1.8 and had a lot of problems running the mash through my impeller pump.
  5. $10,000 - Selling my 500L Hoga. I had a water bath built, with direct fire natural gas burners. Heat up time is about 2 hours and the run time can be as quick as 3 hours and as slow as 8 hours depending on how many of the plates you're using and how hard you're running the dephlegmator. It has a column with up to 10 removable plates, and then a dephlegmator above the condenser. I've been able to do stripping runs, finishing runs, whisky, rum, short runs of vodka and brandy on this unit, and its size pairs very well with my stripping still. The water bath helps keep the quality high on you

  10. What options are available to minimize dust when using 50lb sacks ground to flour? Is there anything for manual pour into the mash tun, or is an auger system needed? I would eventually like to auger with larger sacks or mill ourselves, so something we can grow with would be great.

    Dust Collection

Looking for thoughts/experiences with dust collection during grain handling and processing. We will be using a Rad Equipment hammer mill, augers to move the grist, and a loading hopper to charge the mill and a surge hopper to charge the mash tank. The city wants us to install dust collection, which we figured we'd have to, just wondering if anyone loves their equipment, or hates it...? Thanks, Ryan
