Darren Bobby
Anyone have a line on a supplier this? Looking to do it by the book. Formula 40-B. Denatonium Benzoate and Tert-Butyl Alcohol. We had a line on some but the company backed out due supposed concerns about topical use in hand sanitizer. Thanks.
SlickFloss
Text butyl is not currently required for 40 B per TTB/FDA guidelines. They send out updates daily you can receive through discus or ASCA

Thanks for the heads up Are you saying they dropped the requirement to use denatured ethanol? So regular ethanol can be used now?

Sorghumrunner
Can anyone confirm what is meant by 1/16 avoirdupois ounce? Is that one ounce (28.35 grams), or 1/16 of an ounce, which would be a dram, 1.7 g?

An avoirdupois pound (7000 grains) is made up of 16 avoirdupois ounces, each weighing 437.5 grains [28.5 grams] This would be the standard version of ounces you are familiar with as you reside in the United States. Troy ounces on the other hand has a measure of 31.1 grams and 12 troy ounces equal a troy pound. The troy system is used by the British Isles, as well as the US mint for the regulation of coins. Troy pound measures are equivalent to what is known as the apothecaries pound measure, as well as .82 avoirdupois pounds and .373 kilograms Cheers
