Golden Beaver Distillery
Hi We picked up our still from Liberty Pole Spirits in Washington, PA and are about to put it in service, but before we do we want to descale the condenser. Any suggestion what to use to descale the iron?
ViolentBlue
what do you used for acid in your cleaning process? if you can circulate through there a Phosphoric or citric acid solution, that would eat away at it without damaging the stainless. might need to be a heavy solution, and might need to circulate for a good long while, but it should do the trick. SlickFloss
Hot Citric will take care of that. Run a line from a pump and just recirc it.
starcat
Inhibited Sulfamic acid is one of the very best for this application when dealing with carbonates and silicates from hard water. I have found it to be Superior in performance to many, For SS you can also use 5 Star Acid 5 or 6.
