If you are a distillery and receive bulk ethanol for spirit production (or hand sanitizer) from any source you are required to comply with the HAZMAT regulations.

 OPPORTUNITY:

Live HAZMAT Certification Training (or recorded webinar): $99.00 per seat

 The Virginia Hand Sanitizer Consortium, in coordination with a nationally recognized HAZMAT training and certification partner is sponsoring a USDOT and IATA required training and certification program for all HAZMAT employees.  The normal cost for this course is $2,000. The consortium has arranged to train up to 250 students live-online or through recorded webinar. Consortium membership is not required. This is a singular opportunity that will not be available again in the near future. The consortium is NOT making any profit from this course. It paid a flat fee and there are seats available.

 WHY YOU NEED THIS TRAINING:

If you received bulk ethanol (tote, drum, etc.) and/or you SHIPPED hand sanitizer (FedEx, UPS, LTL, etc.) then you are classified as a “HAZMAT Employer” and your employees who handled shipping operations (packing, stacking, loading) are classified as “HAZMAT Employees”. As a HAZMAT employer, you are obligated by law to provide HAZMAT training in accordance with USDOT regulations found in CFR 49. This training is NOT covered by your OSHA guidance. Even if you do not produce hand sanitizer, but you receive bulk ethanol for any purpose, you are required to provide evidence and documentation of compliance for training your employees, and to maintain this documentation on hand. If you intend to receive or ship bulk ethanol in ANY package or volume or any form of hand sanitizer and you do not have this (or equivalent) training, you will be in violation of 49 C.F.R. By completing this training you may be eligible for discounts with your insurance company by furnishing records of this training. 

 THE TRAINING:

12 hours of Web-Based Training over two days delivered to your desk in a live, interactive webinar (or via self-paced recorded webinar). Training encompass all areas required by Federal USDOT regulations to provide training for your HAZMAT employees for the purpose of shipping or receiving hazardous materials or dangerous goods by highway, rail, vessel (boat), and aircraft. Also includes the international regulations of IATA for transport by air. Upon successfully completing the exam with a passing grade, all participants will receive a certificate of course completion.
