More than 80% of Russians support Putin - poll

There has been a significant increase in the number of Russians who are convinced that the state of affairs in Russia is moving in the right direction.

Since the beginning of Russia's attack on Ukraine on February 24, Russian support for the actions of Russian President Vladimir Putin has risen to 83%.

This is evidenced by the data of the Levada Center sociological survey, which was conducted on March 24-30.

Support for Putin among Russians rose by more than 10% in March compared with support figures in February and January. Sociologists then recorded support for Putin at 69% and 71% in January and February, respectively.

15% of Russians "do not approve" of Putin's actions, while in February and January there were 27% and 29% of respondents, respectively.

The study notes that the level of Russians' trust in Putin increased by 10% compared to February - from 34% to 44%. Also, the trust rating for Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu increased by 5% (from 12% in February to 16% in March).

There has also been a significant increase in the number of Russians who are convinced that the state of affairs in Russia is moving in the right direction. In March, 69% of Russians were convinced that their country was heading in the right direction, while in February it was 52%.

P.S. Comment from me: this shows that there are no "good Russians", all Russians (83%) support all the crimes committed by Putin and the Russian army in Ukraine.

"Good Russian" is a dead Russian.

155 years ago, on March 30, 1867, Russia sold Alaska to the United States.

The area of the transferred land was about 1.5 million sq. Km. Alaska, discovered in 1732, was Russia's only possession outside of Eurasia. The tsarist government tried to get rid of it for many reasons. Home - Russia would not be able to save them in case of war, as clearly demonstrated by the Crimean War. In the United States, many also opposed the purchase. The deal was called "Seward's Madness" - after Secretary of State William Seward, who sought it. The parties agreed on a price of 7 million 200 thousand dollars - 4.73 dollars per sq. Km. Thirty years later, gold was found in the Yukon, and oil in the twentieth century. All this has raised controversy over whether to sell "Russian America."
Pictured is a check for Alaska. But the contract was about gold.

Russia has always lied and deceived ...

And now the very good news:
Ivankiv (city) in the Kyiv region was liberated from the Russians.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ivankiv
This is the last serious enemy base in the direction of the Belarusian border and the Chornobyl Zone
The Russians left the territory of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, and I would not rush to catch and smoke them in the zone itself.
Let the radiation catch up a bit. And die yourself.
She drank from heavy sediment equipment.
And towards the border they no longer have a normal cover, there we have them and rocket and artillery.
the city of Ivankiv.
The city was occupied in the first days of the war. There was a completely deaf occupation, complete isolation of the population, lack of communication and the Internet. And a real humanitarian catastrophe. Very large enemy forces were accumulating in the village, the main logistical base was created here to attack Kyiv and maintain the viability of Russian forces near Kiev.
Ivankov's release, in my opinion, is the end of the liberation of the right-bank part of Kyiv region!
We are waiting for official announcements and videos from the liberated town.

A train carrying Russian military equipment derailed in Belarus

The "rail war" continues in Belarus; over the past three days, the second train has left the tracks.

Orest Logunov, a member of the board of JSC UZ, announced this, according to the CFTS.

According to him, on the train that derailed, there was military equipment of the Russian Federation.

Armed forces of Ukraine for the first time shot down enemy equipment with the help of Starstreak

For the first time in the war with the Russian Federation, the Armed Forces of Ukraine successfully used Starstreak, which hits targets with three kinetic darts.

With the help of Starstreak, a Russian Mi-28N helicopter was shot down in the Luhansk region.

These anti-aircraft missile systems arrived in Ukraine from the UK about a week ago and are already showing their effectiveness.

Starstreak can destroy helicopters and planes at Mach 3, which is three times the speed of sound. Until now, they have not had a real combat use.

If their use becomes more widespread, Russian aviation will have to change its tactics and climb to an altitude above 8 km, which will reduce the effectiveness of their strikes.

According to the BBC, British troops took them with them to the war in Iraq in 2003, but then it never came to launches against the defeated Iraqi aircraft.

Note that StarStreak, the development of which by Thales Air Defense was completed in the mid-90s, has extremely unique characteristics, appearance and even the principle of operation. Its characteristics are on the border of two types: MANPADS and near-field air defense systems. StarStreak can destroy air targets at ranges up to 7 km, both in height and in range.

Theoretically, these weapons can be used from the ground, ships and helicopters against ground, surface or air targets. But first of all, it is a surface-to-air anti-aircraft complex.

Among anti-aircraft missile systems, StarStreak really occupies a separate place because of its very interesting performance characteristics.

You can start by saying that StarStreak, which was completed by Thales Air Defense in the mid-90s, is quite difficult to even classify.

It has characteristics that are on the border of two types: MANPADS and near-field air defense systems. StarStreak can destroy air targets at ranges up to 7 km, both in height and in range.

According to these parameters, it exceeds the capabilities of such samples as the FIM-92 Stinger MANPADS and even such a full-fledged complex as Strela-10, being able to reach the enemy at a much higher altitude. At the same time, the dimensions of a single launcher make it possible to use it even "from the shoulder", but the most common option is with a machine tool or a mobile launcher.

StarStreak - rocket characteristics
Maximum target engagement range: 7 km
Maximum target engagement height: 7 km
Maximum ammunition speed: Mach 4
The first thing that catches your eye is the ammunition itself. Instead of a rocket familiar to all anti-aircraft systems, StarStreak uses three separate sub-munitions to hit targets - a tungsten dart weighing less than one kilogram and about one meter long.

Despite their size, each of these darts is controlled by the "laser trail" principle, when the control laser beam "illuminates" the tail of the ammunition. This principle makes it possible to completely ignore heat traps that can deceive infrared homing missiles.

The speed with which these darts fly is also impressive - more than 3500 km / h. This makes StarStreak the fastest in its class among all MANPADS or near-field air defense systems. In general, the energy that the starting engine transmits to the darts is enough to intercept targets with an overload of 9g at an altitude of up to 7 km.

Another "surprise" of StarStreak is that the darts have a warhead with a delayed detonator. That is, the target is first flashed with tungsten "crowbars", which explode already inside the body of an aircraft or helicopter.

And finally. A powerful thermal imager is used to detect and target the StarStreak target. That is, the air defense system itself does not emit anything and cannot be detected by threat warning stations installed on aircraft.

Combat use of StarStreak
At the same time, it should be noted that the war in Ukraine will be the first combat use of StarStreak in real conditions. Until that time, it was fired only at firing ranges at training targets. But for the British army, this complex is one of the few air defense systems in principle, that is, the British command has quite high hopes for it.

A similar situation was around the well-known NLAW ATGM from Saab, several thousand of which London handed over before the war. This anti-tank complex, although it did not have a "track record", showed its very high efficiency already in the first days of the fighting.

The most interesting psychological turn is taking place today in Germany.

Germany has been a pacifist country since 1945, and over the past two decades it has become the main partner of Putin's Russia. Gerhard Schroeder simply switched to a patch to Putin. Angela Merkel's government did everything possible for 16 years to ensure that there were no sources of gas supply in Europe, except for Russia. Nord Stream 2, which Putin needed to start the war, is a symbol of the work of the Merkel administration.

The public in Germany generally supported such a policy, and suddenly a 180-degree turn occurs - Germany, which in the first days of the war said that it would not provide Ukraine with any military assistance, becomes a leader in the sanctions policy against Russia. The Germans had a coup in their heads. They suddenly saw fascism again. They saw what they themselves repented for decades. This bestial face of fascism in pictures from Mariupol and Kharkov has changed public opinion beyond recognition. All the work of Putin's propaganda machine, many years of work on bribing German politicians, all this went down the drain.

US cancels ICBM test over Russia

The US military canceled a test launch of the Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM).

Representatives of the US Air Force explained the cancellation of the test launch of ICBMs by the desire to reduce nuclear tensions.

Earlier, the launch of the Minuteman III missile was scheduled for March 2, but was postponed amid statements by the Russian Federation to bring its nuclear forces to a state of high alert. Washington stressed that it is important that both the United States and Russia "be mindful of the risk of miscalculation and take steps to reduce these risks," Voice of America reports.

US Air Force spokeswoman Ann Stefanek said the decision to cancel the Minuteman III missile test was due to the same reasons as the delay in the first launch. The next Minuteman III test is scheduled for later this year.

"The Air Force is confident in the [combat] readiness of the US strategic forces," Stefanek said.

Minuteman III ICBM

The nuclear-capable Minuteman III ICBM is a key part of the US military's strategic arsenal, with a range of more than 9,660 km and a speed of approximately 24,000 km/h. Missiles of this kind are dispersed in fortified underground mines.

It is pointless to look for logic in those who have no brain or heart.

And yet. Explain why the Russians did not like horses (everyone has already read about the destroyed stables), and now also cows.
Look, Russian scum just took and killed all the cows on the farms "Agromol" in the Kharkiv region, fired from machine guns.
Sadists and non-humans.
I am silent about the dog they killed to eat, because I really wanted meat з (from intercepted telephone conversations). And how many Russian dogs shot in the liberated cities! It's just a shock!
How does their land carry? .. millions of bastards.
38th day of the war. Rashists do not cease to amaze the world with their madness.
Ukraine heroically resists world evil.

Arestovich described the horrors that the invaders did in Bucha, Irpen and Gostomel

Aleksey Arestovich, adviser to the head of the President's Office, believes that the world should be horrified by what happened in Bucha, Irpen and Gostomel in the Kiev region.

He announced this in a video message.

According to Arestovich, today's appeal is aimed at making the world aware of the numerous crimes against humanity that were committed by Russian troops in the recently liberated settlements of the Kiev region.

"Bucha, Irpen and Gostomel are cities that have been liberated and are a picture from a post-apocalyptic horror film. Among the victims of these war crimes of the Russian troops already found are raped women who were tried to be burned, representatives of local government were killed, children were killed, elderly people were killed, dead men," he said.

Many of the dead have their hands tied and show signs of torture, most of them were also shot in the back of the head.

"There is nothing to say about such things as a robbery or an attempt to take away jewelry or washing machines. This will certainly be taken into account by the prosecutor's office and law enforcement agencies, and international criminal courts," the Arestovich emphasized.

He also held a moment of silence to honor the people killed by the occupiers.

Arestovich assured that no crime would go unpunished.

"There will be no other news today. The world should be horrified by what happened in Bucha, Irpen and Gostomel. Unfortunately, I think that in other cities of Ukraine the picture is not better. But the Armed Forces of Ukraine, other defense forces and special services of Ukraine will do everything to find and punish the criminals," he stressed.

As UNIAN reported earlier, on April 1, the Armed Forces of Ukraine liberated Bucha and almost 30 other settlements.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine noted that during the retreat from Bucha, the invaders mined civilian structures, infrastructure facilities and some areas within the settlement.

.........................

Published 3 hours of recordings from the online camera of the courier service in the Belarusian Mozyr, through which the invaders-marauders send things stolen from Ukrainians.

The video was published by the project "Belarusian Guyun".

The recording clearly shows that the soldiers of the Russian Armed Forces are sending stolen items: TVs, 4 boxes with AKAI air conditioners, an electric scooter, alcohol with price tags, video cards, hoods, car batteries and a bunch of other things. In one of the moments you can see a trunk from the Ukrainian shopping center "Epicenter".

In the video, the soldiers can see the chevrons of the 56th Guards Air Assault Regiment of the Russian Armed Forces, which is stationed in Feodosia (Crimea, temporarily occupied by the Russian Federation). Also in the frame are the faces, phone numbers and delivery addresses of the Russian Armed Forces soldiers who robbed Ukrainian homes and people.

Earlier, Ukrainian intelligence reported that in the Belarusian city of Narovlya, the Russian military opened a bazaar for the sale of property stolen in Ukraine.

If we do not break the neck of the Kremlin now, we will return to this in 2-3 years - General Hodges

The American general noted that now is the right moment, while the Russian army has failed, to break it.

In the next three weeks, Ukraine will be able to step on the neck of the Kremlin, and partners should help it go forward and break this neck, urgently providing everything that Ukraine asks for.

This was stated in an interview with TSN by the former commander of the US European Army, General Ben Hodges.

“If we don’t help, the Russians will start to recover, bring in ammunition, they will realize what they are doing wrong and will attempt a new offensive. Therefore, right now we are at the critical stage of this campaign,” he said.

Hodges clarified that Ukraine needs to be provided with weapons that will help destroy long-range missiles, long-range artillery, ships and aircraft that launch cruise missiles.

Speaking about the plans of Russian President Vladimir Putin, Hodges noted that he expected the capture of Kyiv a few days after the invasion, and that his soldiers would be greeted as liberators.

"I think Russians' arrogance about their ability to do this is a reflection of miscalculations in their training. The fact that Russian generals are killed because they used mobile phones with Ukrainian SIM cards is an example of this arrogance," the general said.

He noted that the Russian army is definitely ineffective, but they still have nuclear weapons, many opportunities, thousands of soldiers.

"Therefore, we must take the opportunity now, while they failed, to break them. Otherwise, we will have to deal with this again in 2-3 years. Therefore, we must now talk about victory. There is not even anything to discuss. The priority is to win - to restore sovereignty Ukraine. And this should be the goal of the United States and Europe, to help Ukraine restore its sovereignty. Then it will be possible to speak from a position of strength. But this is a decision on Ukraine. Ukraine is a sovereign country," Hodges said.

The expert explained why the Russians shaved the heads of Ukrainian women prisoners of war

On April 2, Ukrainian servicemen were released from the captivity of the invaders. Everyone was shocked by their appearance - the Russian invaders shaved their heads.

According to the website of the campaign against sexism "Povaga", this is another impressive evidence and symbol of the war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine. This explanation for the actions of the invaders was given by Elena Kharitonova, Ph.D. in Law, Associate Professor of the Department of Criminal Law No. 1 of the Yaroslav the Wise National Law University, an expert in a number of international projects and organizations, and a researcher.

She stressed that shaving the heads of our women prisoners of war is an attempt to impose deviance on them. It is a means of social control that the occupiers use to attack human dignity. Since the Middle Ages, executioners have used shaving as an important part of their torture ritual. His task was to humiliate a person.

In contemporary jurisprudence, some international institutions have already recognized forced shaving of the head as ill-treatment. This is the Inter-American Court of Human Rights. In this decision, the court also relied in its argumentation on the decision of the European Court of Human Rights in another case, which stated that “the forced shaving of the hair of prisoners is, in principle, an act that can lead to humiliation of their human dignity or can cause them to feel inferior, capable of humiliate them."
