The Head Distiller will be responsible for the day to day leadership and management of the distillation process. The individual will lead a large craft Distillery to provide production and maintenance support to ensure the site is achieving its overall goals and objectives. To be a good fit for this opportunity you must have distillery operations experience with a minimum of 3 years. We are looking for a professional with a solid understanding of fermentations and distillation of Bourbon, Single Malt,Gin, Vodka, Etc. Key responsibilities and accountabilities. We currently run 6 5000 gallon fermenters and a 5000 gallon mash tun. We also run a continuous still. Having knowledge with continuous distillation is a plus! • Manage and lead the daily activities of team members in the production of high quality spirits • Provide strong leadership and effective problem solving • Understand the functions of pot and column distillations • Lead by example and hold employees accountable • Effectively monitor and evaluate performance on all direct reports including coaching, mentoring and training to ensure all team members have the proper tools for success • Emphasize the flow of information by communicating effectively to all members of the spirits team • Maintain daily reporting and TTB compliance information • Develop, lead and emphasize Key Performance Indicators of cost, quality, safety and yield, making decisions in supporting these goals • Lead and facilitate employee involved safety team meetings and overall location safety • Be an active participant in sensory evaluations of raw materials, distillate, fermenting, and aged product, developing a logging and records system to help better understand nuances of distillation and maturation process • Review daily inspections on raw materials through sight, aroma, test weight, moisture content and foreign material analysis • Execute and monitor monthly and annual production schedule ensuring sufficient and timely procurement of raw materials • Purchase all required grain and coordinate necessary logistics • Other duties as assigned Core Competencies Strong communication Analytical / problem solving Organizational skills Team-building, and team-working skills Requirements • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant scientific discipline or equivalent • Should possess a minimum of 3 years distilled spirits or beverage plant experience • Possess strong leadership and problem-solving skills •60-80k salary depending on experience plus benefits Please Email all resumes to Diamonddistiller@gmail.com Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
