Job Description:
We are seeking a full-time distillery hand to join our team at Ransom Spirits. The distillery hand will be responsible for completing all types of distillery work, sanitation, and cellar organization as laid out by the Distiller. They will also help provide leadership to part-time staff. A strong candidate for this position will be a hard worker, a self-starter, thoughtful in how they manage their time, an ability to pivot, and be a team player.

Ransom Spirits is craft spirits maker located in Sheridan, OR.  We make brown and clear spirits as well as other items.  Ransom offers a unique opportunity to gain experience across the full range of our activities as the team is small and everyone does everything.  We take pride in our ability to create great products while working in an environment that is quality driven, safe, respectful, and fun.


Preferred Qualifications:
Some full time winery, brewery or distillery experience
Forklift Experience
Basic mechanical knowledge and ability to problem solve

Skills/Experience Required:
Ability to work long hours and outside in all conditions
Ability to lift at least 50 lb.
Ability to be on your feet for extended periods

Previous alcohol beverage production experience  

Willingness to take direction and follow work orders through to completion
Ability to multitask in a fluid environment
Ability to set a good example and provide leadership for part time employees
Willingness to take on new tasks and learn new skills
Ability to pivot and keep a good attitude when things don’t go to plan
Ability to work with others and independently
Respect for personal safety as well as group safety.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Ability to communicate to a working degree in English
Reliable transportation

Essential Tasks and Duties:
Complete work with due diligence
Operate pumps
Operate bottling equipment
Operate forklifts
Perform barrel work
Perform spirits filtration
Keep the distillery clean and organized
Basic maintenance on distillery and bottling equipment
Provide guidance/leadership to part time staff
Follow Standard Operating Procedures
Uphold quality standards in all areas of production
Adhere to good safety practices
Perform other duties as assigned by Distiller.
