jocko Posted December 18, 2024 Posted December 18, 2024 We clean our bottles well, filter the product to 1 micron. We have had some bottles with little pieces of debris inside. We think its coming from the closures as we did a check and some of them did have some particulates on them. Almost 100% sure its coming from the closures. We don't have any system for this. What are people doing to ensure nothing comes in on the closure?
Foreshot Posted December 19, 2024 Posted December 19, 2024 We have found it comes in batches. Most closures are fine, but certain batches are horrible. We try everything without much success. Washing them and hand drying each one significantly reduces issues yet we will still get a fair number of bottles that need to be emptied and refilled. We have a 20 micron filter on bottler to eliminate the big stuff. If we get junk in the bottle they are dumped back in to the tank and the bottle washed and left to dry to be use in another run.
jocko Posted December 19, 2024 Author Posted December 19, 2024 Ug. I was afraid of this answer. We're doing that now. I was thinking of putting them in a tumbler with high pressure air over them to shake off loose particles. Did you try anything like that?
Foreshot Posted December 20, 2024 Posted December 20, 2024 No but it's probably a good idea. We found most of the junk was excess around the mold seam. Tumbling them should be effective.
