Artisan Still Design Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 wondering if a section for Canada might be appropriate, sine there are many members here from the North Country
Spazsquatch Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 Just saw your post about the "Alberta Class E review" and came into this forum to request the same. I was surprised to find this thread already started. I would love a separate Canada section to discuss these things.
Waverley_Spirits Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 This is a great idea! Canada is a distinct society... I heard that somewhere in the '90s. JK
Les Trois Clocher Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 I see this was said a while ago but being a canadian as well I would love to see a separate group discussing our unique issues...
Spazsquatch Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 I hope this isn't out of line, but I went ahead and set-up a forum for discussing Canadian microdistilling issues, with a by province breakdown. Obviously it has no users right now, but it should be ready to go. http://microdistilli...forum/index.php I don't know what I was thinking.
Swede Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 Thanks Spazquatch, As a fellow Canadian, its good to see that some progress is being made. Hopefully we will have a booming micro distillery industry here like what the US is experiencing now. It's a niche market and having local and relevant info will certainly be useful to some I'm sure. I'll stop on by the site you set up... Cheers
JesseRaz Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 Perhaps a "Canada" forum under the "Government" header? We got our CRA distillery licence (first in Toronto since 1933!) and are now working our way through the AGCO: https://www.facebook.com/TorontoDistilleryCo
Spazsquatch Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 I think that was the idea behind this thread, but after a few months without a response, I didn't figure it would happen. I set up my board to fill that void. Really excited you guys got up and running... and in Toronto non-the-less! We are currently in the process of relocating simply because the property in Toronto was cost prohibitive. Looking at the Facebook page it seems you've chosen to forgo retail? I would love to swing up and visit once you guys get things ready.
Viking Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 So glad you started this thread. We are trainers who work with distillery startups. We are located in Washington state and have had many Canadians attend our week long workshop. We also have done a workshop in Canada (Prince Edward Island) and are working to set up another one (Nova Scotia). We have put up a tab on our website called Canada. BC has had lots of recent changes as a lot of folks up there. You are in very exciting times for this industry. I am going to post your link in previous reply to the Canada page on our site Artisan Craft Distilling Institute. We look forward to facilitating discussion for Canadians and your unique opportunities in the Provinces. Cheers, Allan
crazyhorse67 Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 I'm in. Canada's a black hole of information and I want to see the light!
Artisan Still Design Posted July 14, 2013 Author Posted July 14, 2013 lots of action happening in the different provinces, new bills or changes to bills regarding distilling. still waiting on a place to post them. Moderators, Please?
Wayward Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 I for one, completely agree with Randalllam. I think he has a good grasp of our issues and puts forth constructive solutions.
Kannuk Posted August 23, 2016 Posted August 23, 2016 I'm also interested in a Canadian issues thread... Maybe under Government & Guilds grouping?
