Jimmidaboot Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 So, basically a few welds on the thumper to condenser arm, and then it's time to give it a polish. Thanks for all your advice and support on here, everyone. Here it is the first time the boiler shook hands with the thumper. As a point of reference, I'm 6'3".
Jimmidaboot Posted March 12, 2013 Author Posted March 12, 2013 I love the rivets. Very classic. Nice work! Thanks Jason! I see you used to be a brewer here in Oly with Fish Brewing? Very cool! Locals rule!
TuftedTurtle Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 Going to have to clean the drool off my keyboard. Fine work, sir! Tufted
HedgeBird Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 What are the horizontal ring pairs on all your tanks? Are they weld lines where you overlapped copper sheets?
Jimmidaboot Posted February 4, 2014 Author Posted February 4, 2014 They are ribbed for rigidity…and for pleasure. On this particular still, I used 32oz copper for all the bodies, so in order to give them a little strength, I rolled some beads into the sides. Seemed to work quite well!
Ian Newton Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 Fine work! You think that diner table is up for carrying a bunch of whiskey?
Jimmidaboot Posted March 25, 2014 Author Posted March 25, 2014 HAHA!! Just saw this. Nope…that table ain't gonna do!
Salishseaorganicliqueurs Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 Hey Jimmi, Just noticed we're located pretty much right next to each other. We're starting up in Lacey. We also have friends at fish brewing. Such a small small world!
Scalawag Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 WIll you be at the ADI Conference? If so? I would like to meet up with you and discuss lead time and pricing.
mendodistilling Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 Just a thought but if the condenser was even or slightly below the swan neck, you could go right into the condenser with minimal restriction.
Jimmidaboot Posted March 28, 2014 Author Posted March 28, 2014 Hey Jimmi, Just noticed we're located pretty much right next to each other. We're starting up in Lacey. We also have friends at fish brewing. Such a small small world! It is! Especially in the micro distilling world. I'd like to swing by and see what you have going on sometime, if you don't mind!
Jimmidaboot Posted March 28, 2014 Author Posted March 28, 2014 WIll you be at the ADI Conference? If so? I would like to meet up with you and discuss lead time and pricing. Hey man! Not going to make, it's just too spendy for my wallet, and I'm pretty busy with work. You can call met at (360) 486-4962 or email me at james@craftsmancopper.com to discuss any work you might want from me.
Jimmidaboot Posted March 28, 2014 Author Posted March 28, 2014 Just a thought but if the condenser was even or slightly below the swan neck, you could go right into the condenser with minimal restriction. Good thought, but I build to customer specs, and this is how they wanted it. I'm not a designer, just a craftsman.
Salishseaorganicliqueurs Posted March 29, 2014 Posted March 29, 2014 It is! Especially in the micro distilling world. I'd like to swing by and see what you have going on sometime, if you don't mind! Jimmi, We'd love to have you by. We've just started construction on our space though so it's pretty much just an empty building. We've got about a month of construction work and then we'll start bringing in equipment so it might be best to wait till then. However, if you'd like to meet before that and perhaps try some of what we are working on feel free to shoot me a message.
