GNS grades?

Im a little confused on the various grades of GNS. As it was previously determined that purchasing GNS would be the best/most cost affective way to start off since our products are liqueurs, I am unsure what to price and include in the business plan.

For example, if you look here: http://www.grainprocessing.com/alcohol/alcform.html

What is the difference between the Grain Neutral Spirits and 190 Proof Pure Ethyl Alcohol ??

Which would be the correct one to use?

Or, if you look here: http://www.ultrapure-usa.com/pages/products.html

I would assume "190 Proof Ethyl Alcohol, USP Grade" would be the way to go, is that correct?

I appreciate all of the help that this forum is providing!!

What you are looking for is the 190 proof GNS / 190 proof ethyl alcohol, USp/NF grade.

So far the best price I've seen is from Pharmco at around $5.50 a gallon, delivered (including shipping) for one barrel. I think Ultrapure is in the same ballpark. Quantity is cheaper of course. If anyone knows better prices let me know.

They are both 190 proof ethyl alcohol. The GNS explicitly comes from grain, which is corn, wheat, etc. There are grape spirits and others as well.

There are some industrial processes that produce alcohol as a byproduct of their operations. I remember seeing one company have a product that was derived from petroleum (or other industrial/chemical) processing.

You have to decide what you want for your business. That will be best for you.
