daveflintstone
simple questions: For those charging for distillery tours, how much are you charging? What do you offer for that?
rumfarmer
I will be doing free tours, FYI. I think if the tour is interesting enough, people will at least leave with a tee shirt or hat. That should cover the cost of showing them around. Tastings are a different story. Up to liquor commission, but I will either charge a small fee, or require you purchase a souvenir glass to cover labor and tax on the pour. Just my 2 cents. grehorst
We offer tours for free. We offer a tasting flight at the end of the tour for $5. The tasting flight ticket is also good as a coupon for $3 off a bottle or souvenir glass. Thinking about raising the price and charging for tours whether they want to do a tasting or not. bluestar
We started with free tours. We are planning to follow suit with the other Chicagoland distilleries that charge $10 including a tasting (3 x 1/4 oz pour per IL law) for a full, pre-scheduled tour. This allows us also to provide comp or charity tickets for tours with a nominal value.
