George Moncure
I have been fortunate to have inherited some Norit NOX 0.8 carbon but in my search for more I find it for about $800 for a 40 lb bag. That's unrealistic considering many carbons are available for under $2.00/lb. Can anyone recommend carbons and suppliers they are using for spirit polishing? Thanks. ny_spirits
George, Have you tried ebay? Last year we bought 55lbs for about $50 plus $30 shipping. The quality is good. The seller ("thirdmillenium" is his user name) is still active on ebay but has since doubled his price. Still, at $110 for 55 lbs, its sill much less that $800 for 40lbs. But I don't know how the price compares with Coop's supplier. Hope that helps a little!
robertbirnecker
Dear George, One of the most advanced carbons for your purpose are Spiricol and Granucol. They are not cheap, but are made exactly for this purpose. Please let me know if you have any questions about this. All the best, Robert Kothe Distilling Technologies Inc. 5121 N.
