GeekSpirits
I am hoping to do some automation for my still, mash tank, and fermentation tanks but need to find an electrically controlled steam and water valve. Ideally either 0-10V control, proportional. Anyone else doing this and have a source for valves.
Dehner Distillery
Just Google "steam valves controls" you need one that has a stepped motor mounted on it. It should be easy to get, but cashy. Doing anything with electric heat and or controlling water is easy! http://www.redbootstills.com Take care!
Natrat
Stepped motor valves are spendy! So are pilot-controlled proportional steam valves. The most cost-effective solution I came up with was PNEUMATIC proportional steam valves. Awesome for cooling as well. If you aren't bothered by snap-clicking valves, a standard steam solenoid works pretty well with a standard PID temp controller. Available from McMaster Carr for under $200 on the 3/4" and under $500 for 1". http://www.mcmaster.com/#steam-solenoid-valves/=rg61q2
