Donutboy
I'd love to hear from folks who are selling bottles as well as cocktails on what POS system they are using. We are searching and would like to find one that didn't cost thousands of dollars, works well, and we could use with an iPad. Right now we are leaning towards pepperkorn http://www.pepperkorn.com/us/index.php Thanks! Roy Camp 1805 distillery Hood River, OR
Salishseaorganicliqueurs
My suggestion is to go with the square. It's a much better system with reporting tools which easily interface with quickbooks and other programs. Well worth the money.
Sorghumrunner
Yeah, I'm using Square and like it so far. Easy to add items and they will host an online sales page. Also reports to quickbooks directly. No monthly fee like Pepperkorn either.
John McKee
Square. For so many reasons....... We've run our tasting room, bottle sales, cocktails, merchandise, all of it on Square for the last 2+ years. So great. Cheers, McKee
Donutboy
Thanks, everyone. Appreciate your feedback. What would you change about square if you could? Anything?
TetonDistillery
Get an iPad with the credit card swipe and use Square. If your cell phone can tether to provide a wifi hotspot, then you can bill from anywhere, festivals, offsite tastings, etc. Here is an article on it. http://techcrunch.com/2010/04/03/square-ipad/ Here is a nice way to present the iPad to customers. http://www.ipadenclosures.com/ipad_kiosk_enclosure/ipad-pos/square-ipad
leftturndistilling
Square !!!... Ipad in tasting room ... I-phone @ festivals .... Only hate is that to get transactions into QuickBooks you have to enter manually... I've tried the quickbooks interface but it just batch dumps into quickbooks and does not give enough info.... Jake Holshue
I would listen to these guys. I would tell you why you shouldn't use another program... but I don't want to get Big Brother to come down on me for posting a negative review.... oh god here they come.... ahhhh!!! Lenny
Wondering if anyone on team square has tried any of the other solutions out there? We use POS Lavu and are very happy with it. Haven't tried square for anything other than off site use but in reviewing various options, POS Lavu seemed much more robust and appropriate for our needs. MaskCraft
We are not up and running yet, but have decided to go with ShopKeep which is an ipad based program. $49 per month, no contract. We are also going to run IntelRetail in conjunction for QuickBooks integration.

Dehner Distillery
I was at one place that used shop keep. They seemed to like it. I like square my self.
