Located in Newport, Kentucky directly across the Ohio River from Cincinnati, New Riff Distilling will be adding an Assistant Distiller to our talented, energetic production team. We work hard, enjoy what we do and are looking for a self-starter who can work well with others. Check out our website to get an idea of who we are, at www.NewRiffDistilling.com The Assistant Distiller will report to the Head Distiller and will be responsible for all aspects of production during their shift. Applicant Qualifications • 3-5 years of previous distilling or brewing experience strongly preferred • Background in chemistry or lab processes • Strong mechanical/light industrial background • Experience in the beverage industry • Proven ability to work with little to no supervision • Be precise and detail oriented • Willing to work some long hours, including weekends and occasional evenings Duties to include (but are not limited to): • Receipt of raw materials · Milling, mashing and fermentation management · Transferring of mash, fermentations, high wines, etc. · Distillation on both our 60 ft continuous column still and 500 gallon pot still · Daily QA/QC responsibilities to include sample collection and lab analysis · Guiding occasional tours of the distillery · Inventory management · Research and Development/Recipe formulation Candidates should be physically fit and be able to work flexible hours and shifts.
