Charlie
Hello all, As of Monday October 26th, we have received our federal permit! We applied August 22nd and were issued October 22. We are now working on our state application and must get building and fire marshal to inspect. We hope dealing with the state will be as straightforward as it was with the TTB. Hopefully we will be making delicious beverages in no time. Wish us luck. Thanks, Charlie

Spirit of Texas Brad
When you say, "straightforward" did you have any discrepancies on the TTB forms? Did you work with anyone at TTB while filling out the forms? We just got our state permits last week and have been signed off on City, County, and our zoning. All we have left is our fire marshall signature as well after our federal permits come in. What state are you in? Cheers, Shaun Spirit of Texas

Charlie
We had a few discrepancies on our application. Our specialist stated they were typical mistakes. I gave her permission to change them and it saved alot of time. I recommend filling out the forms the best you can and mail them. From my experience the TTB is very easy to work with. Before we applied I worked with someone about the bond. I found it to be the most confusing. We are located in North Carolina. If all you have is fire marshall and federal, you are almost in the clear. I have to meet the fire marshall today. Hopefully it will go smoothly. Good luck. Thanks, Charlie Hi Charlie, Having gone through the when I started making wine, I can tell you that it's a great feeling when you actually get something ready to hand out. My only 2 cents would be that you consider thinking about who you're going to be selling to, and look at inviting them to participate somehow in your journey. People who are involved in crafting or guiding the development of a product are much more likely to buy it and help you sell it. Make them feel like they have a moral ownership in it. Just a thought... social networking like Facebook is good for stuff like that! Kind regards, Robert
