bull
Put together a thief to use around the distillery. After some use yesterday I can already see what improvements I need including making one with a bend in it for in-between the racks.
admiralty
Looks good, I like the knucks for a handle!! I was looking at doing something similar, What size pipe and will it fill a grad cylinder?
bull
The tip fits into a graduated cylinder and it is 3/8 I believe. I will confirm

JustAndy
We had a copper one, but unfortunately found it communicated a copper-like smell to samples so we got a couple of stainless steel ones http://thevintnervault.com/index.php?p=view_product&product_id=4520
jeffw
Yeah, I get the cool factor of the copper ones, but I like the stainless vintner vault ones too.
Saskltd
that thief would be 3/4". Nice work it looks excellent, I have seen several plastic ones but this would last much longer. My only concern would be that it will be very difficult to get really clean, you could fill it up and soak it in Citric, but I'm guessing it can't be scrubbed out. Great tool for checking SG before a run i would think.
Southernhighlander
You could use a shotgun cleaning kit to clean it. I have cleaned condenser tubes that way.

This was made with parts we had laying around. If I had stainless it would of been stainless. Also it is easy to clean.

RobertS
Certainly would give new meaning to 'loaded'.

I hopped in our tractor one day and went to move a lever that was more solid than expected... turns out our farm crew was keeping a shotgun in the cab in case they find lunch!
