Tom's Foolery
What type of pump is needed to pump mash from the tun to still? I have seen some really expensive equipment for the brewery industry, but have and also heard that some distillers use new sludge pumps. Unfortunately, gravity is not an option for me. Chip Tate
You can also use a regular centrifugal brewers pump if the mash isn't too thick. We do it. Many of the true mash pumps are really nice positive displacement pumps. They're great, but not cheap either.
