Yeah, I get the cool factor of the copper ones, but I like the stainless vintner vault ones too.
This was made with parts we had laying around. If I had stainless it would of been stainless.
Also it is easy to clean.

Oh my, that is lovely.
Thanks Robert. We are going to make a few more once we get it refined a bit.

Tried a different image host.

The tip fits into a graduated cylinder and it is 3/8 I believe. I will confirm

Put together a thief to use around the distillery. After some use yesterday I can already see what improvements I need including making one with a bend in it for in-between the racks.

Hello Bull,
I use one drop in heater for a 500 watt aquarium. Suspend it in the middle of the ferment along with the temp probe. The one I have has a thermostat I can set to 85 degrees. I use my gauging thermometer to test the temp in the ferment and adjust the thermostat accordingly. They have only been off a couple of degrees. I don't remember the brand but I purchased the titanium model so I would not run the risk of breaking glass in my ferment.
Awesome thanks. How far is the temp probe away from the heater? Am full of questions this AM. Too much coffee..

I single heater maintains ferm temps in all but the coldest days when we'll also use moving blankets for insulation.
Thanks Indy. Do you agitate your fermentation at all?

Super cool! I really like the "Oregon Grain Growers" name as well.
Whats its going to take for you to give me that "bottled liquors" sign? Ill throw out $100 cash and a case of Pennsylvania's finest straight rye whiskey as my initial offer
Thanks HB. You are going to be somewhat put off when I tell you that it was bought about 100 miles or so away from you and I had it shipped out here.

Nothing wrong with aquarium heaters! We use this one:

with this controller:

and they readily maintain fermentation temp even during winters. We use them in 1000 liter totes.
How many heaters per 1000 liter totes?

Here is our tasting room. We converted a old Cadillace Oldsmobile dealership into our distillery. The original sign above the tasting room is 42' X 11'. Our room is still under construction and will update photos when we are done.
Entrance
The tasting room bar from reclaimed wood grain elevator crib house. The bike is a three wheeled bottle hauler during farmer's market. The box on the back is metal and circa 1950s. Note the purse hooks on the bar.
View of the bar looking into the distillery. The metal is covering up where our cooling strip for cocktails is going to be.
Diner booths will be going in where the "Bar" sign is located. 1953 Seburg Jukebox holds 50 records.
Merchandise area. Still need to install proper lighting.
Bar view looking outside.
View from tasting room into the distillery.

Ha, No competition here.
I wanted a space to show off your hard work and inspire others. I will post up my space today- 1

That looks great! What is your total occupancy? What a great story and history. Nice work.
-
Our forklift is very versatile and we use it for a lot of different tasks that don't involve distillery work. I wouldn't hesitate on getting one if you can afford it and have the space
Things to look for:
- Side shift (this was a must for us.)
- Mast height
- Extended height
- Propane vs Electric
- How many hours (if buying used)
- Extra propane tank (Great to have so when you run out you have a spare tank to pop in) It runs out when it is most critical FYI
We have affectionately named ours Pepe the little mule

Thought it would be great to have current distilleries post up pictures and narratives of their tasting rooms to show off their hard work and vision. Plus it would give prospective distillery owners a good example to work off of. Thoughts? Anyone want to go first?

Our grand opening was a huge success. We had 1012 people visit us this past Saturday. The whole event ran smoothly and there was hardly any wait times.
- We checked ID at entry and gave them ID bands.
- Then they went to the drink token station where they could purchase beer and cocktail tokens.
- After that they were free to try tastings and buy drinks.
- We had a separate bottle and merchandise booth where they could buy items. This made less of a bottleneck in the tasting room.
- We had bbq pulled pork, chicken wings, chicken thighs, beans, salads, and desserts.
- I gave scheduled tours and answered questions
- We also had a photo booth area where they could take photos etc.
- We had games for kids and non-distillery T-Shirts (I Love Agriculture) that we gave away.
- For social media, we gave away stickers to people who checked in at our distillery and or posted photos.
We were humbled by how many visitors we had. (Our town has a population of 17,000).
Once I get the photos organized I will post them. Let me know what questions you have. -
