  1. Finger Lakes Distilling

    Production Manager & Distiller Position

     

    -        Coordinate all distilling and bottling schedules to meet annual production goals at maximum efficiency

    -        Ultimate lead on all quality control relating to FLD finished products

    -        Ensure compliance with all TTB/NYSLA/OSHA/Ag & Markets rules and regulations

    -        Price and source supplies for production

    -        Maintain all equipment and assist with new equipment decisions and installations

    -        Manage production staff (3-8 people) – assistant distillers, production assistants, bottling crews

    -        Hands-on milling, mashing, distilling, blending

    -        Maintain barrel inventory – new barrels, aged stock and empty barrels for sale

    -        Help formulate new products

    -        Engage with contract customers on custom projects and bulk sales

    -        Assist with single barrel program – develop ideas for one-off barrel ideas, host groups and help promote to the whiskey community

    -        Lead person on administering core operating software – DISTILLx5 – to track all purchasing, production and inventory management

    -        Serve as a Brand Ambassador for FLD – attend onsite events, conduct tours and programming, offsite tastings and events, help with company marketing efforts

    Other

    -        Report directly to Company President

    -        Need to lift 50 lbs

    -        Position will require training on forklift

    -        TIPS certification will be required

    -        Participate in monthly FLD Marketing Meeting

  2. Finger Lakes Distilling, makers of McKenzie Whiskeys and one of the most established distilleries in NYS, is looking to hire a Retail & Marketing Manager.  This position will include oversight of the retail side of the business including the Tasting Room & Bar, as well as onsite events including tours, experiences, and entertainment.  Responsibilities will also include coordination of marketing efforts including website management, social media planning, public relations, event management, and advertising.  This is a senior level position that requires the individual to be self-motivated.  It will also offer growth potential and substantial input on the future direction of a fast-growing company in an exciting industry. 

    The ideal candidate will have managerial experience in some field that requires customer service, preferably in the hospitality industryMarketing experience will also be highly valued in selecting this position.  The job requires a great deal of creativity, but also a task-oriented mindset and ability to work both independently and with the team in a fast-paced environment. Basic tech skills a must. 4-year degree, preferred. 

    The position will report directly to the President/Owner of Finger Lakes Distilling. 40+ hours per week will be expected including some weekend hours. Benefits will include vacation time and an opportunity to participate in a 401k plan after 1 year of service. Compensation TBD.

  3. Finger Lakes Distilling is currently in need of an Assistant Distiller to work at our facility in Burdett, NY (just north of Watkins Glen on Seneca Lake). We are seeking a highly motivated, mechanically-minded individual to help with the production of our diverse line-up of spirits. The Assistant Distiller will be involved in all aspects of production (processing, mashing, fermentation, distilling, barreling, filtering, etc) under the guidance of our Master Distiller. Must be willing to work some non-traditional hours to help us extend our production schedules beyond 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Additional responsibilities include maintaining records that are necessary for government filings, including production logs and regular physical inventories. Attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple tasks at one time are critical to the success of these job duties.

    Qualifications:

    Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent experience in distilling/brewing/winemaking

    Ability to work with spreadsheets, create and maintain accurate records

    Strong technical, analytical, and communication skills

    Occasional travel for trade events, tastings, presentations
