  1. As a total novice, I think this forum has to be available to anybody interested in the topic if the industry as a whole is going to grow. So what if some people want to homebrew. A lot of those people wind up going into distilling once they are comfortable with the processes. The point is that as the industry does grow, there will always be newbies like me that are looking for tips and tricks. If you're not interested in running down the drill with newbies, ignore their posts. Besides, having just joined a couple of months ago, I don't see a whole lot of technical information on distilling processes being passed on by the 'masters.' If the forum were limited to only the 'professionals' then it might as well be shut down now.

  2. post-171-1220855383_thumb.jpgI just wanted to let everyone know that while I'm waiting for distillery licensing, I'll be launching a new trade magazine titled Bevcraft for the independent winery, microbrew and artisan spirits industry.

All are welcome to contribute. Let me know if you have an area of expertise you'd like to share. We're also planning on featuring beverage operations in each issue, so hit me up if you want to be featured. The projected launch is November 2008 and the magazine will be available by FREE subscription to persons in the industry and related trades. Keep an eye on www.bevcraft.com as we'll be adding a media kit and subscription form in the next week.

    Here's the projected first cover.

    Cheers!

  3. To raise the bar to the highest standard of spirits journalism (Spirit Journal holds that title currently), I invite anyone that might be interested to assisted me in starting a guide that I will call The Artisan Spirits Quarterly. We will recuse ourselves from rating any of our own spirits, of course!

    All the very best,

    Rusty

    Rusty,

I just happen to be a publisher that is in the (long) process of licensing a distilling business.

I could devote some time to putting together a magazine for the Artisan Spirits industry. Let me know guys if there is any interest.
