  4. Hi,

After some positive responses from the market (thank you for your replies) we have decided to invest in a new private mold for all you whiskey and rum bottles out there. It is a generic European looking whiskey bottle with a bartop finish.

The bottle will be available at very competitive prices at the end of the year. As we are bringing in 1 truckload, please indicate your volumes if you are interested in this glass. I can send you a technical drawing for your review.

    Cheers,

  5. Many companies take this step seriously, Packaging attracts the customers. It creates attention towards their product. It increases sales.

I definately agree with this! I urge the craftdistiller to think outside the box. I mean you are using perhaps a few pallets of glass per year, why not make the best out of it instead of going the safe route. Lets take Saver glass, beautiful glass, expensive looking, high end and top of the line. Neverthless, I have found 15 distillers using the Oslo, 14 using the Ariane, 7 using the Neos. My personal view is that if you go safe you will not stand out, therefore will not book huge sales even if your product is outstanding.

Some have great ideas of decorating a simple looking bottle into a work of art, using low cost additions to embelish the glass (wax, silkscreen, frosting, bartops). What we need is a 'refreshment' in the glass industry, whether personalized molds or changes in design such as www.selective-line.com offers. Imagine: a bottle that looks like it is made out of wood, or velvet (...) or looks like an old metal object. All is possible nowadays and believe me it will write itself off, because your sales will go up. I might toot my own horn, but you will see that the packaging experts, whether us or other distributors, can really help you get the edge.

  6. After purchasing bottles overseas the past couple of years I am looking for distillers that will consider buying bottles through a buyers co-op. The goal is to achieve more flexible quantities at volume prices.

    Paul

    Paul,

It is maybe after the fact, we are distributing for Selectiveline.com. If you guys want to be a little different than the Oslo, Ariane and Neos of this world, do consider this new line of glass. With your help I can get some interesting quantities in, which I could keep on stock for you or the coop. Prices are competitive with the Saver glass.

    Let me know.

    Frank

  8. Dear friends,

In my quest to offer you a better or equivalent product at lower prices, I have the pleasure to anounce the launch of a Fidji style bottle from our South American glass makers. The glass is clear flint, lower in weight and has a beautiful design.

This is not a copy, it is an established mold to which the Saver Fidji is the nearest example.

Note that for you craftdistiller on the West Coast you reduce shipping cost and energy cost because we would boat this glass to your door.

You would be green while saving money. Contact me for samples and terms. Quoted prices are based on less than full load quantities. Minimum order 1 pallet bulk (1350).

Introductory price: 1.50$ per bottle FOB Montreal

  9. Anyone know where I can purchase quadra bottles, similar to Johnnie Walker bottles, in 750ml and 1l?

I'm not interested in the tapered ones.

Are you still looking? I might have the 750 ml version. Send me an email so that I can reply to you with the scanned image: frank.hoytink@unitedbottles.com

  12. We are looking for closures for the Tam Tam Bottle. Specifically a screw cap that is a CT 400/33 color of Pantone Red 21-015 or close.

    I know it's a long shot, but I thought I would try.

    Regards,

    Rob

Call Tito 514 916 8115 he represents a European company making these CT caps, or specify quantities and I will drop him a line

  13. Bottles are a pain... I've been sourcing wine & spirit bottles for many years and it never gets easier. My favorite spirit bottles are Saver (French) and Bruni (Italian). They get pricier every year and the suppliers don't really like to deal with anything smaller than a full container. Chinese bottles are promising but I've found quality control to be an issue. Although printed (silkscreened) bottles are tempting, for a small producer I'd recommend buying stock flint bottles from someone like Richards Packaging or Demptos and doing a really great paper label (laminated). These can be clear to imitate silkscreen. Don't get me started on corks... Cheers, Ken

It means I am not doing my job well. United doesn't require full loads, we keep on stock, have great prices have a new glass line which compares to the Saver quality. And: 3 printers in our area able to do small and large runs in ceramic. Also a labeler that can do minimum runs. We do bartops and pry off closures.
