  1. As a distillery that ferments and distills on the grain - I am looking for a solution to separate the grain from the slop after distillation.

    What - if anything are you using to accomplish the separation? I have a farmer lined up farmer to take all of the grain however he would like it separated from the liquid.

    Any thoughts are appreciated.

  2. I use a yellow dent corn / feed corn straight from the farm - delivered in totes from the farmer himself. There are definitely differences in the processing requirements using a "raw" corn versus a "processed" corn from the grain suppliers. I found Making Pure Corn Whiskey by Ian Smiley to be helpful in making adjustments to my mash bill and process. Good luck!

  3. I use the DMA 35 daily and find it to be a valuable piece of equipment in the distillery. If the budget allows for it - I say go for it - I have no regrets.
