  1. We have registered a recipe with the TTB and will release a 100% Georgia Peach Brandy, aged in oak barrels in the spring of next year. We had hoped to get a large batch this growing season, but our permits came in a little too late. Rory and Davy at Peachstreet Distillers in Palisades, CO makes a fine Peach Brandy as well.

  2. We are having a tough time finding an insurer who will cover our distillery operation for liability and other coverages. Can anyone share the name of a company or agent that insures their operation?

  3. We wish to thank everyone in the community who offered insight and advice on tastings laws in different states. Through a lot of harassing calls and emails, and many a face to face meeting with State leaders, we now have had introduced into the Georgia legislature a bill (HB 514) that will allow distilleries in the state to offer tastings. This is the first step in what we hope will be more legislation to come, and will welcome more distilleries into Georgia to take advantage of low taxes and large metropolitan areas. Keep the advice coming guys and we will pass it on to the state!

  4. Good morning everyone,

We are still fighting the good fight here in Georgia to allow tastings and make the state a friendlier environment for our industry, and may be you guys can help us out. The one thing lawmakers understand, and what moves them to work is TAX REVENUES, and the smell of future revenues. Can anyone out there supply us with ball park information on what distilleries pay, on average, in excise taxes to state government, or an idea of what your state receives collectively from excise tax revenues thanks to distilleries located in state? Any information will help make our fight easier.

  5. Greetings fellow distillers,

We are looking to change Georgia's laws to allow on-site tastings of product. Similar laws have been passed here for micro-breweries and wineries, however we are a new oddity here in Georgia and the South. Anyone out there who has sample legislation or wording which may make it as easy as possible for our legislators, please share it. Thanks to the economy our state is receptive to ideas on how to increase revenues, and this type legislation would be great for our business, as well as other and future distilleries which may want to operate here in Georgia. Right now all we are pushing for is tastings. Georgia is a three-tier state and not yet ripe for on-site sales. If we can get the tastings, then maybe we can eventually get on-site sales as well. One step at a time.
