We are currently going through a large expansion with a continuous column still and large pot still. An exciting fast growing Distillery with great employee growth potential. Minimum 2 years production brewing and/or distilling experience. Responsibilities of the Distiller -Mashing -Mashing on a 500 gallon mash cooker and a 2000 gallon mash cooker. Handling raw materials and following the SOP, while ensuring a safe working environment -Distilling -Distilling (both stripping runs and spirit runs) on a 250 gal pot still, 1000 gal pot still, and continuous column still. Emptying fermenters and cleaning them for the next mash. -Barrel Handling -Moving barrels on and off racks, swelling barrels, filling barrels, harvesting barrels, keeping reports on all filled and harvested barrels. Assist in receiving empty barrels. -Grain Handling -You will be required to handle 50lb grain bags, 2000lb pallets of grain, 2000lb super sacks. Once silos and mill is installed, milling and assisting in silo fills is required. -Proofing -The distiller will assist in proofing products down to barrel entry proof and in any other products needed before bottling. -Blending -The Distiller will assist in creating blends for our products. This includes gathering barrel samples, proofing samples, proper labeling of samples, product tasting and gathering tasting notes. -Inventory -You will assist with inventory. This will include inventory of grains, barrels, yeast, enzymes, and other raw materials. -CIP Tanks -Following SOP for CIP of tanks and stills when needed -Fork Lift/Scissor Lift Use -Trained and confident on driving a forklift and scissor lift. You will be required to lift heavy loads (full barrels, pallets of grain) using the forklift. -Maintain Process Logs -Record and maintain process logs of every step of the production process. This includes receiving raw materials, mashing, distilling, proofing, barrel samples, harvesting barrels, barrel movement on racks. -Maintain high level of Hygiene and Safety -This will ensure we are all working in a safe environment -Assist on the bottling line -When needed, assist the production team with bottling -Shift Flexibility -flexible with 1st shift or 2nd shift -flexible on working weekends -Public Relation Events -you will be asked to help with PR events, tastings, festivals, etc…. -these events can be evenings, weekends, and/or out of market locations -Keeping a clean work environment Key skills which they will use on a daily basis includes: -Knowledge of all aspects of the beverage production line -Knowledge of all aspects of mashing, distilling, proofing, barreling -Well developed sensory skills for tasting and evaluating spirits -Strong scientific knowledge -Project management skills -Leadership Skills -Strong communication skills -Quality control skills -Strong computer and mathematical skills -Methodical, logical, and detail oriented -Understanding of OSHA safety requirements -Heavy Lifting of 50lb bags -Keep a safe and clean working environment SEND RESUME AND COVER LETTER TO brett@silverstarwhiskey.com Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
