black mold

All the large distilleries that I have visited have black mold on the buildings and adjacent trees. Is this an issue for microdistilleries? How big do your fermentation tanks have to be before this becomes a problem? I presume white or light colored paint would not be good for my building.

I have this problem. At first I thought it was improper combustion from my propane boiler, but that was not the case. My best guess is that it is caused by the dust produced when I grind my corn.I started out milling my grain inside, but quickly moved it outside because of the mess. I only have this black residue on my roof, which is dark green metal, but it sure shows up. The good news is it cleans up easily

Great link from Ned on the mold. You will surely have to give careful thought to the color of the building for all the usual reasons, but sounds like annual pressure washing could take care of it if it gets to be a problem.
