Lift Condensate: To lift the condensate back to the header requires about one pound of pressure to raise water 2.33 feet. The inverted bucket trap you have should be able to do that. You will need a check valve on the outlet of the trap. If you are looking to raise the water ten feet, you will need about 4 1/2 pounds of steam pressure. One of the considerations is the minute your steam valve starts to close, you will not have the pressure needed to lift the condensate.
