  1. I often convert barrels from head fill to side fill. What I do is hammer in a silicone bung into the head hole, fix a piece of wood to cover the bung with stainless steel screws. Normally you have to chisel out a section of the wood to fit cleanly with the bung. Then all you do is use a hole saw and bore out a new bung hole into one of the larger staves.

I've only been doing this for a few months but so far no major issues. If the replacement bung is undersized you may need to use flashing to get a better fit.

  2. Selling a 4-spout Letina gravity filler with lockable wheel base. We bought it new and I honestly don't believe it's ever been used since we upgraded to a more robust system before we opened.

Adjustable for fill level, bottle height and bottle diameter. On stand with locking casters for portability. Pickup in Thornton, IL 60476. Asking $2200.

  3. Looking for a mash tun with a false bottom capable of producing 16 barrels of high gravity wash. Should have an agitator (rakes preferred) and side manway for removing grain. Heating not essential but cooling preferred. Located in IL.

  4. What milling specs would you use for grain-in malt whiskey mashes? Looking for thoughts as they relate to efficiency and ease of processing/pumping. Are there any downsides to milling to/near flour?

I recently tried a mash with malt milled to 1.8 and had a lot of problems running the mash through my impeller pump.

  5. We are building out new production space and selling this 150 gallon All-Copper Pot Still.

Custom fabricated in Bucyrus, OH for the distillery. Approx 1 year old. Includes agitator, parrot with thermometer and barrel hardware. Heated by low pressure steam coils. The pot, neck, lyne arm, condenser and parrot all copper.

Price is $15k. Located in the Chicago area.

Please PM me with any questions regarding the still.

    Cheers,
