  1. Jonathan M. Forester Food & Beverage Writer & Consultant Winterport Winery Penobscot Bay Brewery Penobscot Bay Distillery (in process) Pairings Food and Wine Education Center, Restaurant, and Event Center. Excellent topic starter, I will jump in, My name is Jesse Lupo. I grew up in Maine and became a welder. I moved to Massachusets for the better job opportunities. I have built equipment and was advised by a friend who is a member, to join the forum and communicate with other distillers and distillers to be. I have enjoyed the conversations i have had and hope to see more opportunities to help others whole i build my own distillery. I hope to open a DSP in N. central Mass. by mid-09. Time will tell. In the mean time I will build things for people and exchange information with everyone I can. I hope to see everyone here helping and being helped, rather than the negative tear downs that have been developing. I don't see a lot of the latter, I am here to help, I hope we all are. In Great Spirits, Jesse (jester) Lupo 7 river st leominster Ma,01453 617-849-2849 I like to take things head on, call me for anything.
  2. Folks, Thank you for the warm interest in the Parrot and related heat exchanger. The exchanger was designed and engineered for a different process than that which it is used for in the photo. It works excellent as a condensing stand. It was sized for a reactor to fermentor exchange to save time, recover heat, save wear and tear on equipment and quickly cool the wort to fermetation temperature. I will be verifying that use point soon. It was modeled in Aspen and sized to cool 50gpm wort dropping 40c. in the transfer. This would recover the heated water for use in future batches or other great uses. I have a stand included with the one in the photo, but have many answers to adapt to each application simply. My constant intention is to make excellent quality equipment to save money, time and resources. The parrot was a requested afterthought to compliment the Heat exchanger. I offer the parrot for $524.00. It has a drain valve and can be sized to match your connection point within reason for no extra charge. I build to order and accept Pay-Pal and business checks. Please contact me with any other questions or requests. I can build about anything you can dream up... Jester
  3. This is a parrot I built on a heat exchanger to directly run off a pot to avoid the use of columns and quickly distill product that you want to maintain full flavor in. This heat exchanger very efficiently condenses for a 600 liter pot. I built to suit about anything you need. please feel free to contact me for quotes and questions. Thanks, Jester
  4. Mud, I have a welding business that produces bio-pharm equipment. I build to order for now. I make a stainless steel housing for gravity feed filtering up through a bed of carbon. It has three adjustable feet for leveling and and inlet ball valve good for rough metering the flow rate. It has 1" hose barb connections by Triclamp for easy adaptation to your tank. It holds around 1800 cubic inches of carbon. I have built one like this and it is used to filter about 350 gallons of proof liquor before refreshing is necessary. This is up to you I just wanted let you know I can create options that fit the bill. I can be reached at tridentwelding@yahoo.com Many thanks Jester
  5. Marc, That is awesome, Stick your head out the window and listen for the cheers from Massachusetts. I look forward to meeting you, If you are coming east let me know. Keep running... Jester
  6. Hello, I am a welder of 21 years the last ~9 years have been spent in Bio-pharm and Semi-conductor(five years) and Research and development of alternative fuel sources (3 1/2 years) mostly Hydrogen use. I have been interested in distillation for many years and have designed a compact stripping still to be released in a month or so. It is extremely efficient. I can't disclose too much at this point. I have done some assesments at a friends distillery resulting in the option of saving a great deal of money and time. I would welcome any questions or comments. I look forward to some lively and mutually beneficial conversations. In great spirits, Jester
