TrinityRiver Posted February 26, 2016 Share Posted February 26, 2016 Im hoping someone could give me some ideas on the best way to use liquid "botanicals" inside my gin basket...I am wanting to do some test batches (not necessarily a gin) but not sure how to effectively use liquids in my basket. RobertS Posted February 26, 2016 Share Posted February 26, 2016 I've seen a lot of people talk about thumpers: Fill a pressure-safe container partially with the liquid of interest (usually tails or low wine, I think) Go straight from your still/deflegnator into a pipe that bubbles the distillate vapor under the liquid level Collect the vapor that comes off the liquid Condense Never done it myself, but as far as I know, that sounds like your best bet.
