  1. We currently are looking for a second assistant to jump in and learn fast while we are just in the beginning of our distillation season of the brandy-making operation. The position is in Redwood Valley, California and it is a full-time permanent position for the right person. Duties to start: running early morning still, wine pick-up with truck, barreling, accurate paperwork, etc. Over time, it will lead to more. A strong, mindful, dedicated hard worker with a sense of humor and team player needed asap! call to start: (707) 485-0670 Joe. Send resume/goals to: joecorley@earthlink.net We are the best!
  2. I have been thru Them all and most don't cut it....I picked up one a few months back and it seems to be the one I've been waiting for (ok, not just waiting but paying for crap upon crap flashlights) and I just so happened to look at it as I read the post....and all it says is "Led Lenser 686783" but I know there is another name....it cost around $45 bucks but it is worth it-brightest one ever in a 5 inch metal case and it can focus the beam as well. If I come across the name I'll repost.
  3. What are you distilling?...all of the ingredients please...it may be in the details.
  4. Expect problems....we had one come in damaged and it took 6 months to get the insurance money. And, two stills were shipped to our general area and we each got the other's half...ie. the tops were sent to us. We spent time/gas correcting that problem. There were some events on the east coast as well that I heard of...damage to stills big time, each time one blaming the other... Good luck.
  5. We use 316 for longer stays but occasionally use 304 for only short stays. I have not seen the info on it but I take the word of a few experts that this is the way to go. I certainly feel better about and the distillate is happy too!-Brandymanjoe
  6. Hi folks-Joe Thomas Corley here from Germain-Robin Distillery in Redwood Valley, California. I am the Director of Production here and I have been distilling and blending and...for eight years. I am just now going to look at past posts, but I certainly would encourage a lot of discussion and action to get state legislations fired up and behind micro-distillers.... prohibitionism revisions and laws that are just plain useless. Just for fun, I have a blog site to fulfill my ego need to write....part entertainment, part cathartic, part ridiculous...and maybe a tad educational and informative. It is: http://www.spiritsandmore.blogspot.com/ I look forward to seeing what is happening here!-J
