Good evening, Wow am I glad I came across this site! I could ask a million questions right off the bat, I can't wait to go through the forums and absorb. My business partner and I have been friends for several years and are on our fire department together. About me - I've owned several businesses, when we started looking at this it really started to appeal to me. I'm excited to dive in here!

Hello from Western Pennsylvania: My husband and i produce wine and beer and we are told we are pretty good at it. We have also recently started making cider which has challenges all of its own! We enjoy fine whiskey (single malt) bourbon and rye as well as traditional ginever and dry gins. We love to mix craft cocktails and make our own bitters. I joined the forum to learn more about craft distilling since we eventually plan on opening a small micro distillery and we want to learn as much as possible. Its a pleasure looking forward to seeing everyone on the forums. Does anyone have advice regarding malted grain sources in bulk?

Hello from the smallest state in the union! Sorry I forgot to introduce myself, been so busy doing paperwork and build out etc that I have already made a few posts before my intro. Thanks to everyone being so helpful thus far answering my questions. Basically I've been doing some home brewing for a while and some legal distilling, using an alternate fuel permit all on the up and up. FYI anyone interested in trying to learn on a small scale legally before venturing into a larger scale you can apply for a DSP to distill at home but your permit would be for alternate fuel permit. what this means is that whatever you distill has to be denatured, it cannot be used for personal consumption or sold. Permitting process is similar but much easier, much less paperwork/questions to answer etc. Currently we are about to submit our DSP Beverage application and hope that everything is filled in accordingly and we get our permit sooner rather than later. I'll post when we submit and when we receive. Cheers

Hello to all, I found this place and just got regestered a couple days ago and wanted to say hello I am rather new to the industry and just getting started as an apprentice distiller. As a side note it is encouraging to see so many jobs posted for companys looking for experienced distillers. Currently my bride and I manage a set of storage units near a distillery where I volunteer as an intern.
