Please Participate in the COVID-19 Distillery Economic Impact Study

Recommended Posts

We are requesting support of an important Economic Impact Study covering the formulation of Hand Sanitizer by Distilleries, Breweries, Wineries and Cider makers in response to COVID-19.

With the outbreak of Covid-19, the demand for hand sanitizers sky-rocketed globally. For the U.S. distillery industry, especially entrepreneurial firms in the small and medium scale sector, this presented a tremendous opportunity. According to anecdotal evidence, some entrepreneurs seized the opportunity, moving into the production of sanitizers, and thus helping the society at large.

By surveying distillery businesses across the U.S., we intend to examine to what extent entrepreneurs pivoted into the manufacture and sale of hand sanitizers, as the impact of Covid-19 exacerbated. The findings will have important implications for entrepreneurs, industry stakeholders, and policy planners.

Thank you so much for helping us with this study by taking the time to complete this survey. It is greatly appreciated! All data you provide will be treated in a confidential manner. Findings will be reported only in the aggregate. Upon completion of the study, we will be pleased to share with you a snapshot of our aggregate findings. If you wish to receive the findings, please provide us your email at the end of the survey.

Please complete this survey latest by Monday, September 21.

The survey is under the direction of Dr. Indu Khurana, Ph.D. as part of a detailed economic impact and analysis study conducted by the Hampden-Sydney College Department of Economics and Business. It is being coordinated and supported by the Center for Applied Innovation, LLC (CAI) as the lead for the Hand Sanitizer Consortium based in Virginia but now supporting distillery members as far away as Hawaii and Alaska.

The survey was developed under the oversite of the CAI's survey, research and analysis Subject Matter Experts and in compliance and approved by both the CAI and H-SC Institutional Review Boards (IRB) to be fully compliant with Title 45 CFR 46, Subparts A, B, C, and D and related guidance documents; and Commonwealth of Virginia Code of Virginia 32.1, Chapter 5.1 Human Research.
