Pour Decisions
One of my flavored vodkas ended up being colored due to the flavoring. I am not keen on colored spirit in the bottle and would like to clarify it. Is there a filter that would pull the color but not kill the flavor? I have some GFC haze filters and a few different carbon filters but don't want to waste a bunch of finished product trying a few different filters. Any recommendations? ryanh
Hi, I know this response is pretty late, but for what it's worth: I did an experiment like this a few years ago with a bunch of carbons / DE. The short answer is no, there was not a filter that would pull color but not flavor.
Pour Decisions
@ryanh appreciate the input. I've spoken with a few others about this and played around a bit in house. In the end, we decided to embrace the color on this particular product, I think it actually goes well with it and stands out of the crowd a bit. Kindred Spirits
I think that has a great color for an espresso vodka, it lets your clientele know that you aren't just throwing some artificial flavoring in it.
