Jesse Posted March 6, 2012 Posted March 6, 2012 I've been reading up on different types of activated carbon and am curious what most people are using? The most common seem to be coal and coconut derived, but is there a real difference between the two? What grain size do you use? Who do you order from? Any other information you feel is pertinent would be much appreciated.
Mash Posted March 6, 2012 Posted March 6, 2012 I use basic activated charcoal, but you have to wash out the tiny powder. Activated means it was charged with o2, and that opens up the tiny pores. Really cleans it up.
Jesse Posted March 6, 2012 Author Posted March 6, 2012 Is there a reason you use charcoal instead of coconut shells? Also, what grain size do you use?
