We are in need of a production assistant to help create one of a kind spirits at the distillery. Doc Porter’s currently makes vodka from 100% NC wheat, but will expand into making whiskeys and gins very soon. This is a great opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a new local Charlotte company. Responsibilities: · Milling · Mashing · Fermenting · Distilling · Bottling · Warehousing · Record Keeping · Cleaning · Representing Doc Porter’s brand in a positive manner Requirements: · Candidate must be 21 years or older · Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree in science is preferred, but not required · Must have significant experience with fermentation (homebrewing, etc.) · No previous experience with distillation is required, but candidate must be passionate and excited to learn about the production of craft spirits. · Must be mechanically inclined with the ability to operate machinery such as pumps, chillers, steam boiler and valves, mill, compressed air system, mash tank, etc. · Must have a flexible work schedule to accommodate production schedule. This includes nights and weekends. · Must have the ability to lift 55lb bags · Position will start as a part time role with hourly compensation (approx. 20 hr/week), but could grow into a full-time position.
