wanelson
Anyone have suggestions for good cleaning or caustic solutions for stainless fermenting tanks? After a few months there begins a white scaly buildup on the sides (whiskey mashes exclusively) and it won't just scrape off. Maybe even ideas to avoid the buildup altogether if possible? Tom Lenerz
White powder is typically mineral deposit, or 'beer stone'. Acid solutions to remove inorganic will help. Some people use citric, I'm a big fan of nitric and phosphoric mix. We use Passivate Plus from Brew City Solutions.
