COLA Category

[Lassiter Distilling Co]

We just received our COLA for our rum, but the approval categorizes our white rum as "US Rum (Gold). We don't use any coloring or aging for our white rum, and don't have anything on our label or in the application to identify it as gold rum. 

 

I'be asked AFLD if this might be possible to change, but haven't yet heard back. 

 

Anyone run into into a similar situation or have any thoughts while we wait for a response?

I ran into an issue with a disagreement over class and type on a label. To change it we had to change our formula, but I was able to work with a specialist so it only took a few days.

Hey Folks - this was resolved. TTB changed the category with no argument once they reviewed my emailed request clarifying our proposed categorization.
