Santa Fe Spirits looking for distiller

Santa Fe Spirits is looking for a distiller to join our team.  The right candidate will have at least one year experience working in a distillery and have experience in whiskey distillation, barrel maintenance and blending.  Our focus right now is on whiskey production, specifically our Colkegan Single Malt, and increasing efficiency.  Other products in our portfolio are Wheeler's Gin, Santa Fe Apple Brandy, Silver Coyote Un-aged Whiskey as well as a whiskey liqueur and smoked gin liqueur.  We aren't looking to expand our product line at this time, so if your primary goal is to create your own spirits, this isn't the job for you.  This is a full time position, benefits include 50% health insurance co-pay and paid time off.

What Santa Fe Spirits has to offer you:

  • competitive salary
  • paid time off (six paid holidays, five paid sick days, five paid vacation days in your first year)
  • chance to work in a company small enough that your input makes a difference
  •  opportunity to create our award winning spirits
  • chance to learn/improve your skills in all aspects of distilling and distillery business
  • challenges that come with operating a distillery at 7000 feet, with less than 20% humidity (the angels here want a pretty big share)
  • you get to live in a beautiful place with mountains right out your backdoor: skiers, hikers, mountain bikers, climbers - we've got you covered!

What we hope you bring to the table:

  • basic distilling knowledge
  • experience with distillery software (we currently use Whiskey Systems)
  • can-do attitude
  • good palate
  • brains and brawn (problem solver that can lift 50 pounds and be on your feet most of the day)

If you are interested please send a cover letter and resume to caitlin@santafespirits.com.  (tip: the less experience on your resume, the more dynamic your cover letter).  Please let me know why you are interested in the job, what you have to offer Santa Fe Spirits, what you hope to get from Santa Fe Spirits, and, if you don't live in New Mexico, please say why you are looking to relocate at this time.
