The information we received from our feds regarding gel was that there is no approved formula that includes gel or aloe . Explaination was that aloe and gels coat the skin and form a barrier that prevents the alcohol from killing a virus before it evaporates . Gel formulas will work for killing a bacteria but are not approved for a virus. The WHO web site explains this better than me but thats the jist of it.

We find that people love to be a part of the RD proçess especially if you ask them to participate in filling out tasting notes . We have sheets with tasting notes listed and color and nose listed and ask people to give each note a number out of ten..it makes for very interesting feed back . We tell people to take it home and fill it out in the comfort of there home and bring it back. Its big fun to put random notes in the list like ....earthy moccasin just to see if people are paying attention lol.

Thats just what the supplier recommended , health canada told us to follow instruction of each supplier of each ingredient.
-
So the recomendation is 30 grams per 1000 liters of alcohol . This is what we were told but i highly recommend getting the info from your specific supplier.
Kim
-
Thanks for info ill cross that with the info from our supplier.

Slick floss do you know the exact amount thats reccomended , like grams per liter or something .
-
You could try an infusion mash or pre heat your water and steam inject once grain is in .

Seems everyone is jumping on the sanitized band wagon around here , so we contacted our lawyer for advice . After looking into the legal implication he has advised us to not get involved , the simple answer is we are not licenced to make pharmaceuticals. We are also not qualified or trained to make such products , one simple mistake and were wide open for a law suit . We are invested in this distillery with years of work and close to 2 million dollars , were not risking that to start making home made hand sanitizer . Thats our take on situation .
