    IMO you’re out of luck : (

    but good luck! Hope you find what you want

    It’s for a contract bottling customer so will just find something elsewhere for them

    The font size requirement is not absolute, it is relative: "Of adequate size to be easily read".  Don't overthink this.  Although it violates CFR, many small operators do not label or serialize their cases at all.

    Yah not overthinking it. I just swear I remember when we did our original boxes 8+ years ago I was working off a specified minimum size.  Maybe they changed it or maybe Im getting a NABCA requirement mixed up.   IDK lots of alcohol across this old brain between then and now

    You read it but you didn't read the section that 19.489 references, 19.483, which states:

    § 19.483 Specifications for marks.

    (a) Basic requirements. A proprietor must place the marks prescribed by this subpart on cases, encased containers, and packages of spirits and denatured spirits so that they are:

    (1) Of adequate size to be easily read;

    (2) Of a color in distinct contrast to the color of the background;

    (3) Legible; and

    (4) Durably affixed.

    (b) Use of labels. A proprietor may use labels as the means for applying prescribed marks if the labels meet the requirements of paragraph (a) of this section.

    (c) Location. A proprietor must place the prescribed marks on one side of the case or encased container, or on the head of the package.

    Distillery management software packages can take care of this requirement (and many others) for you- highly recommended.

    No I did.  Still not seeing anything that specified font size.

    Yep I have read that.  Is there nothing about font size and overall size that the overall info panel needs to be?

  7. Hey all

     We are re designing out boxes and I cant seem to find the specs from the TTB as to what info has to be on the outside of the 6 or 12 pack cases.  Can anyone point me to a source showing what info an size requirements their are

    thanks

    Adirondack isn't accepting new customers for 53 G barrels right now, they do have 30 G available

    We have run it just as suggested above several time to date.  We can balance the plates and start a flow at 180 proof. The minute you engage the bypasses/Danfoss  and try to increase the proof, the top plate floods or production is diminished to a trickle with no increase in proof.

    when you do engage the danfoss by closing the bypass do you do it nice and slow?  I mean like slow in steps shut the valve 1/4 way let the still run for 5 minutes close it to 1/2 run for 5 more then 1/4 then just cracked open?

    Its hard to really trouble shoot without seeing it in action so some of our comments might be way off base but just tossing out all the posable options.

    The issue I see is that the Danfoss is useless if the condenser is not cooling distillate. If we can't get output without flooding the top plate, there is no distillate to cool and condense so the valve operation is mute.

    If im understanding what your saying correctly. In a sense yes it is useless. If hot vapor isn't getting to the top of the final condenser and water isn't running past the temp sensor yes the valve will remain closed.  Or at least very constricted.

      This is why you run your set up with the bypass valve opened up first so that water is flowing through the system and it allows you to pack the column   Then you slowly dial that manual valve down as you do this it will start to allow vapor to the top of the final condonsor and the water going out will start to affect the temp sensor now because its hot and eventualy you can almost turn off the bypass valve completely   and the danfoss will do its job maintaining the temp

    What type of setup are you running? Sounds like you are getting some carryover from your boiler.

    It might be foaming or puking on you. Do you have any sight glasses?

    Yes all signed going to Not actually running the still the way its should be ran.  Its pretty easy if your just pot distilling sorting to get some foam boil over that will color the final spirit.

    Does it do this the entire run start to finish or does it come on at a specific point in the run?

    Any chance as RTDs become more popular that abv standards will become less strict, like beer and wine? Or is it a too tied up in taxes?

    id say zero chance. Its still treated just like a bottle of vodka by the feds.  State / local might shift but not the feds
