We are currently in the process of starting up.  We signed on with Whiskey Resources to help us with start up and DSP application and will continue to use their services after we are in production.  It literally lays out what our costs will be per PG etc.  Plus after we put all of our information in each quarter, it will populate our TTB reports as well as the DSP.  Totally worth the money.  Yes, it can be pricey, but much better than paying back taxes to the government.

I guess my question would be how do you even know that you need it? You haven't even started. What if you only made one pallet a month? That would be so easy to keep track of. It would probably cost you about $.75 a bottle just for the program. Now when you're moving a couple semi loads a month that's a completely different situation.

    just my 2 cents

  2. How much is your time worth? How much is your knowledge worth?

I have done consulting all over the world. And depending on the scope of the job, and duration of the job I get anywhere from $85 an hour to $150 an hour and sometimes for small jobs $250 an hour.

  3. You have to call a place that makes the cardboard, and prints and cuts it. If you call just a distributor you will get a massive price you got to go direct to the source. Luckily for everyone out there I have the source.

They custom make and print boxes for me. They do amazing work, if you go into any grocery store or liquor store or anywhere that has cardboard boxes or something it's packed in cardboard chances are about seven out of 10 products are done by them.

  4. I am looking to find out some info on barrel racks and what kind of market there is for them.

What is the cost most people pay for a barrel rack? is it steel or stainless?

Would you pay a little more for stainless steel barrel rack?

How many do you buy a year? or have bought?

    Thanks in advance!

  5. Here is the perfect opportunity to save a lot of money.

I have 1147 cases of this type of bottle. I have new white cardboard boxes to go with these bottles. They are 12 pack cases. There are 81 cases per pallet.

I am looking to move these quickly.

I am asking $0.55 per bottle with the cases included for free.

Everything is FOB Clive, IA 50325

Questions please call: 515-559-4879 or joseph@dehnerdistillery.com

  6. Hi Sim,

Kason has a great deal of experience dewatering spent grains. We manufacture both vibratory and centrifugal screeners in the USA at our factory in Millburn, NJ.

The vibratory screener (Vibroscreen) will be able to dewater the solids adequately at low rates. However, our centrifugal screener (Centri-Sifter) will be able to get the solids drier since the Centri-Sifter applies force to help push water through the screen. We have both new and refurbished Vibroscreens and Centri-Sifters available. The Vibroscreen will be less expensive than the Centri-Sifter.

Please feel free to send me and email/message or give me a call if you would like to discuss your application further.

how much for a unit?? how much for the replacement screens?

how do we what screens to use? we have 2 different grinds we do.. flour, and corn meal type.

  7. ASD is made in china, just ask them. Designed in Canada, or USA. A lot of places are selling stuff made in China. It is only smart for the people from China to try to come here direct and sell there stuff when they see how much it is being marked up.

We pride our selves making equipment in the USA.

  8. For what it's worth,

I'm running a Russel Finnex L.S.S, I wouldn't be able to run the volume that I am without it. I had a couple issues in the very beginning with screens tearing, But these guys were great to work with and had my problem sorted out pretty quick. I'm running 15,000 gallons a week through it with zero issues. I'd recommend it to anyone.

If anyone would like to come out and see it run, I'd be happy to have you in Fridgid ass Wisconsin.

    Nik

I would love to see the unit in person.
    Where are you located?
Is there a number I could reach you at?
Would you let me take pics of it?
    thanks!!

  10. hear is my 2c

We make stills also. But the thing is to find some one who will not rob you blind. We can make stills any size you want, we Also make very very large continuous stills. Just ask "Old Glory Distillery" in TN.

But the thing is anyone will sell you what you want but the right person will sell you what you need. like... why do you need 1000g still? that is insanely large and inefficient, and requires a massive boiler so= more $$$. why not go with something a little smaller and make it twice as efficient increasing your production, saving time and saving you money overall.

    -Batch system pre heaters

    - continuos stripper

    - tank to tank heat exchangers

  11. This topic hits hard. Its very frustrating having so many people committed to being a Distillery, and producing their own product. And at the same time, so many money driven corporations and said "craft distilleries" buying bulk whiskeys, and hiding the facts.

They make every attempt to hide the truth, and put the bare minimum on the product.

I would say from my experience being a millennial, is that even most millennials have no idea this "smoke and mirrors" is happening. Even if they read the label, they don't truly understand the difference.

    My $0.02

    Cheers

    Josh

I agree with this very much.

Unless you are in the know, then you don't know. I don't have billions to educate the public. Just look how many billions of gallons are sold. Do you think anyone buying UV or Smirnoff really come from.

put what you want on there. who cares? i don't give a crap what put on your bottle, Just mine.

    Take care
