We are seeking a Head Distiller to be the lead person responsible for all day-to-day activities of operations, production and warehousing; as such that person will report directly to the Founder and CEO. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to: -Manage a Team of 4 and growing Assistant Distillers -Actively engaged in the management of all the production phases and activities related to distilling Long Island Spirits current and future portfolio of spirits, including raw material selection, milling, mashing, fermentation, distilling, proofing and bottling -Develop production plans based on forecasted needs which include monitoring dry goods inventory as well as spirits depletions -Manage barrel storage and un-aged spirits warehousing -Use Long Island Spirits web based inventory management on a day-to-day basis to maintain precise records of all distillery operation activities using Whiskey Systems -Run automated Bottling Line -Manage all warehousing activities related to shipping and receiving, including fork lift operation maintaining detailed records of inspections of incoming and outgoing goods -Review distillation records to verify adherence to specified formula, proof, compliance and inventory control -Perform Laboratory analysis during fermentation in order to determine Brix, PH and other associated metrics involved with insuring a quality result -Regularly inspect and perform proper preventive maintenance procedures on equipment including use of Company vacuum truck for effluent removal -Maintain Standard Operating Procedures throughout distillery and put in place proper controls for sanitary, storage, inventory and production programs -Lead R&D efforts in new product development under the guidance of the President -From time to time attend Industry events as brand ambassador -Manage a variety of simultaneous tasks and delegate activities as appropriate to staff -Respond in a professional and logical manner to unexpected issues or critical activities that may arise during normal operations This is a rare opportunity for someone interested in joining a Company that is experiencing explosive growth in the USA and starting to export.
