Beginner Pump Question

Hi all,

I have been reading the forums extensively about pumping and I have a couple of questions:

1. Lots of talk about "high proof" pumping and the requirements for it. Does "high proof" in this context mean 190 proof? or 160+? or does it also mean 80-90 proof?

2. I have a Sandpiper S05B2G pump: https://www.zoro.com/sandpiper-double-diaphragm-pump-conductive-acetal-air-operated-14-gpm-s05b2g2txns000/i/G5376183/

The pump body is Acetal, and the diaphragm is PTFE. If grounded, is this pump suitable for 190proof? How about 90 proof? The pump is ATEX rated, so does it even need to be grounded, or do I just need to make sure the vessels are grounded?

Thanks in advance for your answers.

Marko
