DSW
Hello all. I'm tired of scrubbing my mash tank by hand after a rum wash. Does anyone have any good tips for removing molasses?
Jedd Haas
Maybe a pressure washer, preferably one that heats the water. Or hook it up to the hot water supply.
Monster Mash
I would suggest setting up a CIP loop. You can set one up for pretty much any size vessel fairly cheap. Then You can use it for cleaning your fermenters and the rest of your vessels.
PeteB
What is a "CIP loop" please?
Monster Mash
CIP stands for cleaning in place. What is the size of your mash tun in gallons or liters? What is the shape (cylinder, rectangular...)? What are the dimensions? Once all that is known I can probably help you design one from off the shelf parts. What is (are) the size(s) of pumps you already have? PeteB
I clean mash tun with a pressure washer then a soft brush on a long handle. Only holds 1,000 litres so I don't think I need anything more fancy. I still don'd know what a CIP (Cleaning In Place) LOOP is. Just interested in case I expand in the future. Maybe it is pumps and hoses that recirculate cleaning liquid!
