SpiritedAway24 Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 We are a new distillery in North Carolina. We are still undergoing the permit approval process at the state level. However we were curious as to whether we are allowed to run test batches if their are not for public consumption? Additionally, we wondering what's your experience in pre-promotional advertising prior to product release. Any help would be much appreciated guys.

You can in my state.
Brothers Vilgalys Spirits Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Congrats! You may want to check with ABC before running any test batches, and be sure to explain you are currently pursuing a permit with them. In my experience, ABC didn't take very long before giving a temporary permit either. And the more attention, hype, and promotion you can do prior to opening, the better off you'll be. We had a facebook page from the very beginning, and that's done a great deal to build up a following. Still very new to shelves here, but our product is selling incredibly well. Also where in NC are you guys?
Mash Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 Va ABC says No. And they told me to stop....but gave me the license in a couple of days.
