daveflintstone
Paul Chen, don't start rumors. I have been to the Rockwood factory so it does exist. And they operate under European standards. And their English is excellent.

You visited them, so can you tell me which city their plant is in?
HedgeBird
http://www.beverageworld.com/articles/full/15183/china-gaining-foothold-in-high-end-bottle-manufacturing www.youtube.com/watch?v=wk9H5ZDWAlE "ROCKWOOD & HINES GLASS LTD, is the largest glass factory in China with 16 furnaces, 12 fully automatic lines and 10 semi-automatic production lines ,a Joint venture between a French and Chinese companies." They may not directly own the factory the bottles are made in, but its pretty cool you can actually go and visit the facility. Most distilleries probably do not own the factory/building they operate out of so not really sure anyone cares who owns it. Either way, if you take the argument far enough, with China being a communist country it may all be owned by the state anyways "all land is owned by the state and purchasers trade only the right to use property on the land for up to 70 years"
TetonDistillery
Paul Chen, you won't win yourself any new customers around here by bashing Rockwood Glass. I would suggest you focus on offering your own products and services. Nothing is gained for you by attacking Rockwood Glass. Several regular members of this forum have visited Henri Berthe in China and toured his factory. Whether he owns that factory himself or has a joint venture partner is irrelevant. Henri and Rockwood Glass stand behind the quality and they have done a fine job for us so far.

It was meant more as joke, and that is why I included the smiley/winking face. I have been to Inner Mongolia, Beijing, Guangzhou and Hong Kong, and hope to make it back again in the future. Here is our new custom bottle from them that we just got into production. We did a mold with Rockwood and this is how it turned out. Here is a video of the bottle in production at their glass factory.

Techno Decor
Rockwood Glass is one of the shareholders of Sanhui Glass which is a glass bottle factory in Shandong China. Rockwood is not directly own any one physical factory in China. They claim "ROCKWOOD & HINES GLASS LTD, is the largest glass factory in China with 16 furnaces, 12 fully automatic lines and 10 semi-automatic production lines ,a Joint venture between a French and Chinese companies." If in USA, this sentence is a lie, they should bear legal and moral responsibility. If anyone is interested in screen printing, please contact me.
