Shindig
Does anyone know where to get the barrels some are using to showing the aging process? I have seen a few of these online where the wood heads are replaced with plexiglass so the customer can see the changes as the product ages. Very cool! TimeandTask
That is pretty cool. I like the back light. If someone were to design an easy to install, food grade plexiglass with adhesive seal barrel head piece that prevented leaks, I'm sure there would be hundreds of distilleries who would buy that. The trick is to get a snug fit for assorted barrel sizes.
Bluestone
Have you tried calling Westland Distillery in Seattle? Its worth a shot.
Silk City Distillers
Neither Acrylic (Plexiglass) nor Polycarbonate (Lexan) have very good compatibility with ethyl alcohol at typical barrel concentrations (Polycarbonate slightly better). No worry, any decent glass shop can cut you custom circles out of glass. Be liberal with the bees wax and you should be fine.
Skaalvenn
I was at Strannahans (sp?) in Colorado and they did this. Back lighting is a must because it looks black after only a few weeks.
